Peace from Connecticut

It's a crisp fall morning here in Connecticut.
The sun is playing in the sky, making the white wispy clouds shine

and making my flags radiate with warmth
and wishes for peace.

They've been gracing our front yard for several months
and have weathered many storms.

 Some have held their color

while others have faded. The brilliant chartreuse green is now yellow.

Whether faded or fraying, the flags are still there...
sending out my wishes for peace to all.

Thank you Mary Jane for beginning this project.
One question...shall we do this in 2013 as well?
If so, I'm in.

  1. I can hear your flags sing and giggle with pleasure! A wonderful sight, I love the weathered look and the frayed edges.

    1. Ha! That's what I was aiming for. Not sure about the wise part, but looking like they've had a good, long, enjoyable life.

    1. Thank you Barry. I like to think that with each flip or wave in the wind, the flags are sending out wishes for peace. But then, I'm the crazy lady who lives on our street and hangs peace flags in the front yard for all to see...

    2. That makes me the crazy lady who hangs brown paper bags in a tree and hopes for peace...

  5. I so love these Jennifer - would love to make some for myself and let them fly just as you have; and weather gently. In addition your photos are stunning! They always lift my spirits and make me smile - as if peace is possible.

    1. Thank you Kalaya! If you'd seen them flapping in the storm the other day, you might think they weren't so peaceful dancing along the rope and flipping in all directions. Wanted to take a video of it, but the wind was driving the rain onto the porch.
